No. Prostate cancer is a relatively slow growing cancer - hence only patients in reasonable health and life expectancy would benefit from surgery. |

Other non-surgical alternatives are available. This include hormonal and radiotherapy. |

How often do I need to see my urologists after surgery? |
Your first appointment will be in 10-14 days for removal of the urinary catheter. Following this, the next appointment would be in 6-8 weeks after surgery. |

When can I restart my blood thinning medication after surgery? |
Usually in 2 weeks but this depends on the surgeon |

What if I am in pain when i wake up? |
You will be given a range of pain killers by your doctors. A common and effective way of pain control is via "Patient Controlled Analgesia" (PCA) - where you push a button everytime you feel pain to have some pain killer delivered to you (refer to Gallery) |
